Funding FAQs

How is Gold Coast Via de Cristo organized and funded?

Via de Cristo is led, first of all, by the Holy Spirit. Gold Coast also has a Secretariat of lay people which selects the Rectors, Rectoras, and Spiritual Directors, who then assemble their weekend teams. The Secretariat handles bookkeeping, supplies, logistics, and communications within the community. Our mission after weekends is to go right back into the organizations we already belong to — our families, churches, jobs, and neighborhoods.

What does a weekend cost to put on?

The cost for the weekend itself is approximately $6,000, in addition to other operational expenses and fees. No one is turned away over money — which is why scholarships and general giving matter.

How does SmartGiving work?

Use the Give Now button or text GIVE to 561-660-9700. Register once with a credit/debit card or ACH; text Edit anytime to update your info. Recurring gifts can be weekly, twice monthly, or monthly, and you'll receive a text confirmation plus an email receipt.

How do I pay team fees correctly?

Choose the TEAM designation on SmartGiving and copy your Head Cha on the team-fee email so your service is recorded.

How do I pay for a candidate I'm sponsoring?

Choose the SPONSOR designation and email the Pre-Via de Cristo Rep with the sponsor and candidate names. Please wait to pay until you receive an email confirmation that your candidate has been accepted for the weekend.

Can I fund a scholarship for a team member?

Yes — use the SPONSOR designation and email us to advise your intent. Scholarships keep serving affordable for everyone.
